MEMBERSHIP AT GRACE REFORMED BAPTIST CHURCH

Thanks for visiting our church and inquiring about membership at Grace Reformed Baptist Church! We take membership very seriously at our church. God intends for Christians to be involved in each other’s lives, not living their lives in solitude. For the glory of God and the good of each other, we help each other walk in the Spirit.

We recommend the following resources that describe what membership at GRBC is like. We often have these titles available to give to you, so ask leadership if you have an interest.

HOW TO APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP
  1. Read our confession of faith and bylaws and constitution.
  2. Attend (or listen to) all the sessions of the new members class. 
  3. Fill out a membership application, which includes your covenant with our church and its members.
  4. After receiving your application, one or more of the elders will interview you.
  5. The elder(s) will recommend you to the church family for membership, and give them a chance to talk with you about your profession of faith, baptism, and Christian testimony.
  6. At a member's meeting, the current members will vote you into membership with a statement like this:
    “Upon profession of faith, subsequent baptism, and interview with the elders, I commend _ _ _ _ and _ _ _ _ to you, the members, to vote for them to become members of Grace Reformed Baptist Church. All in favor, say aye. Opposed, no.”
  7. At that meeting, the current members and the new members will covenant together using the member's covenant.

Get to know the people, ask questions, tell of your conversion to others, learn of their conversion, and keep prayerfully considering whether it’s the Lord’s will for you to join this church!
